According to official statistics, of the 1,285 road accidents that occurred in 2023, 1,110 or 86.4% occurred as a result of the driver&#8217;s behavior, while 175 or 13.6% occurred as a result of pedestrian behavior.<\/p>\n<p>While pedestrians seem to be more aware from one year to another, and this is reflected in the decreasing number of accidents caused by them in the last 3 years, drivers continue to break the rules and as a result accidents are increasing.<\/p>\n<p>The INSTAT report that analyzed the last 3 years of road accidents has highlighted that administrative measures have increased by 18%, compared to 2022.<\/p>\n<p>What stands out is that exceeding the speed limit is the most repeated violation by drivers, which is also the main cause of accidents.<\/p>\n<p>Fines for &#8220;Non-compliance with speed limits&#8221; account for 24.8% of the total measures set for 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to speeding, drivers do not respect traffic signals, another cause that leads to road accidents. 12.1% of the fines have precisely the justification of &#8220;Disobeying traffic signals&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Road accidents are increasing year by year.
