The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, accused the government of the Prime Minister Edi Rama of \u201cplunging the country\u2019s economy into the deepest crisis\u201d, compared to the region.<\/p>\n

The comments made to the media came shortly after PM Rama concluded a press conference on the economy where he defended his electoral promises on \u201cemployment and measures taken to help businesses\u201d.<\/p>\n

Political parties have turned their engines on ahead of the elections due in April, meanwhile, the economy is expected to be among the \u201cburning points\u201d during the electoral race.<\/p>\n

The leader of the Democrats said \u201cit is time for a change\u201d, hinting that the Democrats must come out triumphant from the elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn eight years Edi Rama raised taxes by more than \u20ac3 billion. 97% of Albanians are paying more taxes,\u201d said Basha. \u201cThe number of Albanians who have gone unemployed is the highest in the region, while the government aid is the lowest in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n

The leader of the Democratic Party added that his party will offer a \u201cconcrete economic plan\u201d that will create a \u201cpositive environment\u201d for foreign investments.<\/p>\n
