{"id":73853,"date":"2024-11-24T20:20:28","date_gmt":"2024-11-24T19:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=73853"},"modified":"2024-11-24T18:11:35","modified_gmt":"2024-11-24T17:11:35","slug":"manuscripts-of-ismail-kadare-are-published","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/manuscripts-of-ismail-kadare-are-published\/","title":{"rendered":"Manuscripts of Ismail Kadare are published"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The State Agency of Archives of Kosovo in cooperation with the General Directorate of Archives of Albania and the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians in Skopje, opened the exhibition &#8220;Manuscripts of Ismail Kadare&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>According to the announcement, the exhibition has been opened at the National Library of Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>Kadare died on July 1, 2024 at the age of 88.<\/p>\n<p>He was born in Gjirokastra, on January 28, 1936. He was an academic, politician, former deputy of the People&#8217;s Assembly (1970-&#8217;82), vice-president of the Democratic Front and one of the greatest contemporary writers.<\/p>\n<p>As a writer, he was noted mainly for prose, but his contribution also extended to dramaturgy, poetry and translations. He started writing when he was still young, first poetry, with which he became known, and then prose, becoming the main Albanian prose writer. His works have been translated into about 45 different languages, thus being the main representative of Albanian literature around the world.<\/p>\n<p>In 1996, Kadare became a permanent member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences in France.<br \/>\nHe has been honored with many international awards, including the Man Booker International Prize in 2005, the Prince of Asturias Prize for the Arts in 2009 and the Jerusalem Prize in 2015.
