Only 32% of Kosovo citizens have had the opportunity to travel to EU countries after the decision to liberalize visas.<\/p>\n
While over 95% of citizens understand liberalization correctly, not seeing it as an opportunity for immigration. These and other data come from the Public Pulse analysis carried out by UNDP.<\/p>\n
“Germany has been the most popular destination, this is not a surprise as we know that the Kosovo diaspora is more in Germany, followed by Switzerland and Austria. Then we continued and asked the respondents if they consider migrating to the EU after visa liberalization, where 64% stated that they do not consider moving to Europe”, says Alisa Hasani, USAID project manager.<\/p>\n
According to the representatives of UNDP, the purpose of this analysis was to reveal the demographics of people who have left Kosovo.<\/p>\n
“We wanted to see the demographics of people who have left Kosovo, what jobs they are looking for, where they are going and see if the visa liberalization for Kosovo has a great effect. This analysis of the public pulse will have been analyzed in the field and also all the policy makers at the central and local level so that there are appropriate measures to mitigate the potential”, says Dudley Tartlton, the representative of UNDP in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
These data were considered quite interesting, therefore it was said that Kosovo should use them.<\/p>\n
“On these issues, we need to have more data to continue further on what an economic opportunity means, the interests of Euro-Atlantic persons and institutions. Also, of the connections that are around the world, how Kosovo can advance”, says Alex Albertine, director of the USAID Economic Development Office in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
Such surveys, including the consent of citizens with the work of institutions and leaders, have been carried out earlier.<\/p>\n
