The Italian government is awaiting the decision of the Court of Cassation regarding the issue of the transfer of immigrants to the Albanian centers in Gjad\u00ebr.<\/p>\n
The news was made known by the Minister of the Interior of Italy, Matteo Piantedozi, who explained that the established centers will be used depending on the needs.<\/p>\n
“The processing of the case in the Court of Cassation has started. Let’s wait and see. We are currently in a period where there is no urgent need to activate the centers”, said the minister.<\/p>\n
Piantedozi has emphasized that, in recent months, the landings of immigrants have dropped significantly and based on the evolution of the phenomenon, a decision will be made.<\/p>\n
The head of internal affairs of the neighboring country also commented on the unconfirmed news that circulated in the media, that one of the rooms of the Gjad\u00ebr camp had been turned into a shelter for dogs.<\/p>\n
“This is just a cute and funny story,” he said.<\/p>\n
While the Italian government has taken the case to the Court of Cassation, prosecutors in Rome have sent it to the European Court of Justice, which is expected to decide next year whether holding refugees in Albania is legal.<\/p>\n
