In another protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, the pensioners demanded an increase in their pensions as well as more attention from the institutions towards them. They have demanded an increase in the living minimum, as well as an increase in the pension and the minimum basic salary.<\/p>\n
“15-108 thousand lek, I don’t even have enough for dry bread and I ask someone or the child to get me the medicine. We are very bad, I want the bonus to be permanent, it is not a big sacrifice they are making”, said the pensioner<\/p>\n
With placards with the inscriptions “Pensioners do not ask for bonuses, but dignified pensions”, “We worked all our lives, we have empty wallets again”, “Give up corruption, increase the pension”, the pensioners demanded “dignified pensions and the approval of a living minimum”.<\/p>\n
“I have come to 2-3 protests, I myself have worked, I am going to be 70 years old, 13 thousand lek pension doesn\u2019t help you to live. if I didn’t have children, I would be dead by now”, said the pensioner.<\/p>\n
“We want to live like everyone else, you built Albania, no one thought about us pensioners. I take 180,000 lek of medicine for blood pressure and diabetes, we cannot live in this way”.<\/p>\n
We are old and cannot come, but we are here with heart and mind. I have a pension of 100,000, he took out my 40-year-old, he ruined my job. Too bad, they think that we eat 1 time a year, but we spend daily, medicine, bread etc. He gave us 150 thousand lek bonus for the end of the year, but they are nothing for us.<\/p>\n
On November 27, the Council of Ministers of Albania approved the year-end bonus for pensioners. The bonus fund for retirees is 100 million euros, while the bonuses are around 150 euros and 100 euros, according to the category of pensions.<\/p>\n
