{"id":74772,"date":"2024-12-20T20:14:44","date_gmt":"2024-12-20T19:14:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=74772"},"modified":"2024-12-20T20:56:30","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T19:56:30","slug":"we-have-taken-control-of-the-north-kurti-talks-about-security-situation-in-kosovo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/we-have-taken-control-of-the-north-kurti-talks-about-security-situation-in-kosovo\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;We have taken control of the North&#8221; &#8211; Kurti talks about security situation in Kosovo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The joint session of the Assembly of Kosovo and the Assembly of Albania was held in Pristina this Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, made a summary of the agreements signed between Albania and Kosovo, but also focused on the security situation in the north of Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>Kurti emphasized that Kosovo already has complete control over the north of the country, adding that the recent violent acts are evidence of the desperation of groups that no longer have any control over the territory.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have extended sovereignty to the north of Kosovo like never before. We have territorial integrity and, although sporadic acts of terrorism may occur, there are no longer internal sources that could threaten our security or stability. The paramilitaries orchestrated and financed by Serbia are unable to destabilize Kosovo because of the blows they have received,&#8221; said Kurti.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister of Kosovo emphasized that, unlike the period when these groups had complete control, now, having lost this control, they are undertaking terrorist acts. He called this the end of the rule of such groups.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The terrorist acts that are being carried out are an expression of their impotence. A few years ago, they did not help terrorism because they had it completely under control. But now that they have lost that control, they are carrying out these violent acts.
