{"id":74810,"date":"2024-12-22T18:20:32","date_gmt":"2024-12-22T17:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=74810"},"modified":"2024-12-22T20:45:35","modified_gmt":"2024-12-22T19:45:35","slug":"monument-of-patriot-cerciz-topulli-returns-to-gjirokastras-museum-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/monument-of-patriot-cerciz-topulli-returns-to-gjirokastras-museum-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Monument of patriot \u00c7er\u00e7iz Topulli returns to Gjirokastra\u2019s museum area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The monument of the patriot \u00c7er\u00e7iz Topulli has been restored in the main square in the museum area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Gjirokastra.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The bronze monument was moved at the start of the works for the rehabilitation of the &#8220;\u00c7er\u00e7iz Topulli&#8221; square and the construction of the underground parking lot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Finally, the monument has been returned to the marble pedestal, which is also undergoing restoration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The bronze monument of \u00c7er\u00e7iz Topulli was placed in the square in 1934 and is the work of the sculptor Odise Paskali.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For its realization, the residents of the city contributed financially as well as the emigrants from Gjirokastria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The monument is one of the symbols that identifies the city of Gjirokastra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The patriot \u00c7er\u00e7iz Topulli led one of the anti-Ottoman patriotic squads in the south of the country, which entered history with the murder of the Turkish child in Gjirokastra and the Maskullora War in March 1908.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The monument of the patriot \u00c7er\u00e7iz Topulli has been restored in the main square in the museum area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Gjirokastra.
