In the last week, more than 12,000 people have presented themselves to family doctors in polyclinics or hospital emergencies throughout the country, as a result of being affected by the flu or seasonal viruses.<\/p>\n
The largest number of visits was recorded in the capital. Doctors appeal to be careful, as the flu is a viral infection that causes complications.<\/p>\n
During just one day, about 100 patients who need specialized treatment appear at the dispensary service in the capital.<\/p>\n
“These cause respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, sinusitis up to pneumonia, 10-15% can be serious complications, with pneumonia or bronchopneumonia, while the share of bronchitis is 50-60%”, says Entela Nako, director of the Dispensary.<\/p>\n
It is the family doctors who refer their patients to the specialist doctor, after they see that within 1 week the disease has progressed and is not improving.<\/p>\n
“Usually, they are over 65 years old, patients who have concomitant diseases, diabetes, heart disease, or those who receive immunotherapy”, says the doctor.<\/p>\n
