Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that he cannot deal with the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office every day to give his testimony, but they have proposed three dates when it can be done at the Prime Minister’s office.<\/p>\n

During today’s conference, Kurti was also asked if he will respond to the Special Prosecution’s invitation to testify, writes KosovaPress.<\/p>\n

“There is communication between the prime minister’s office and the prosecutor’s office, and to tell you the truth, I cannot deal with this case day in and day out, I will deal with it when they come to the prime minister’s office to interview me as a witness, I am open, I am ready, I am willing and interested in giving the evidence to the Prime Minister as a witness as they requested, but since this has been done in the past, there are confirmations for this in the Prime Minister and the prosecution knows about it. I have offered some times when this could be done and I am waiting to deal with this matter by testifying and not by testifying about the testimony that is not happening. The prosecution knows very well what cases it is about, to tell you the truth, the dates and cases are not very clear to me, but the legal advisers and the Ministry of Justice know all this, but even the prosecutor’s office knows more than all of us that there have been cases in the past when the state prosecutor’s office has come to interview prime ministers in the Government of Kosovo, and I believe that we should not get out of this practice,” he said.<\/p>\n

On December 11, the prosecution sent an invitation to Kurti to appear at this institution to give his testimony regarding the suspicions of misuse of state reserves, but the latter did not appear because he is on a visit abroad.<\/p>\n
