The Albanian economy grew 4% in the third quarter of the year, while the final consumption of the population fell by 2.3%, compared to the second quarter.<\/p>\n
The contraction of import and export shows that in Albania the supply of goods was smaller than a year ago, while foreign tourists have only replaced the local residents, who rested outside during the summer. Likewise, the increased prices in the tourist season influenced the reduction of expenses.<\/p>\n
INSTAT reports until the month of September, but it is likely that the period of the end of the year will also bring similar signals of a decrease in consumption, starting from the messages given by citizens about the increased prices of products.<\/p>\n
In November, inflation increased, compared to October, and the Bank of Albania’s short-term forecasts show that citizens are more inclined to save.<\/p>\n
Immigration is also a factor in the reduction of consumption in the population, which is still dominating in relation to migration.<\/p>\n
