Cars older than 15 years will not be allowed to enter Albania. The decision is expected to be taken this year, as part of restrictions on environmental pollution and road safety.<\/p>\n

Soon, the country will no longer allow the registration of vehicles that do not meet the “Euro 5” standard of the European Union, from the “Euro 4” that is currently in force.<\/p>\n

This code is related to the level of pollution and a decision on this standard would coincide with the ban on the import of cars that were manufactured before 2011.<\/p>\n

Last year, the Directorate of Transport registered 100,000 cars, which entered our country from 81 countries, and more than 33 thousand coincided with the environmental category Euro 4, while 22 thousand were older than 15 years.<\/p>\n

The initiative to ban old cars is not a local one, but it is a request for the implementation of international climate policies, as well as road safety, since with the continuation of their circulation, the likelihood of accidents increases.<\/p>\n

In the region, this year Montenegro decided to stop importing cars manufactured before 15 years, or before 2009, while Kosovo, with a law approved in 2017, does not allow the import of vehicles older than 10 years. So, in the neighboring country, from January 1, it is forbidden to enter cars manufactured before 2015.<\/p>\n

In the countries of the region, the average age of cars is 18 years, while in the European Union it is 12.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
