The latest report published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) revealed that in 2022, healthcare expenditures in the public and private sectors amounted to \u20ac734 per capita.<\/p>\n<p>This was the lowest level in Europe and nearly five times lower than the EU average of \u20ac3,533.<\/p>\n<p>In the region, Montenegro has the highest healthcare expenditures, double that of Albania, with \u20ac1,593, followed by Serbia with \u20ac1,517, North Macedonia with \u20ac1,142, and Bosnia and Herzegovina with \u20ac1,072.<\/p>\n<p>Data shows that Switzerland leads Europe in terms of high per capita healthcare spending, with \u20ac5,630 annually, followed by Norway with \u20ac5,376.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey also have low healthcare spending levels compared to the European average.<\/p>\n<p>Healthcare Spending Per Capita, 2022<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Albania: \u20ac734<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Montenegro: \u20ac1,593<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Serbia: \u20ac1,517<\/p>\n<p>\u2022North Macedonia: \u20ac1,142<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Bosnia and Herzegovina: \u20ac1,072<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Albania has the lowest level of healthcare spending in Europe.
