Regarding fatality rates, there were <strong>11 deaths for every 100 accidents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, <strong>1,666 road accidents<\/strong> occurred in 2024, a significant increase compared to the <strong>1,258 accidents in 2023<\/strong>, marking a 30% growth.<\/p>\n<h3>Injuries and Fatalities<\/h3>\n<p>Alongside the rise in accidents, the number of injuries and fatalities also increased. In 2023, <strong>1,731 individuals were injured<\/strong>, while in 2024, the number rose to <strong>2,255 injured persons<\/strong>. Fatalities maintained a rate of <strong>11 deaths per 100 accidents<\/strong>, as noted by experts.<\/p>\n<h3>Causes and Demographics<\/h3>\n<p>Non-compliance with traffic rules by drivers remains the leading cause, accounting for <strong>89.3% of accidents<\/strong>.<br \/>\nYoung people aged <strong>up to 34 years<\/strong> were responsible for <strong>24.2% of road accidents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Geographic Distribution<\/h3>\n<p>Most accidents occurred in <strong>Tirana, Durr\u00ebs, Lezh\u00eb, and Vlor\u00eb<\/strong>. Notably, Berat recorded the <strong>lowest number of accidents<\/strong>, with only <strong>30 accidents<\/strong>, a figure unchanged from 2023 to 2024.
