The registration process for emigrants at the Central Election Commission (CEC), allowing them to participate in the May 11 parliamentary elections, continues at a rapid pace.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

So far, over 100,000 emigrants have applied to be part of the process and exercise their right to vote. Out of these, more than 62,000 applications have been approved, while approximately 36,000 have been rejected.<\/p>\n

The CEC states that the main issue remains the proof of residence document, which verifies the emigrant\u2019s current address.<\/p>\n

Italy has recorded the highest number of rejections, accounting for 45% of all incorrect applications.<\/p>\n

  • 8,000 applications have been rejected from Greece,<\/li>\n
  • Over 3,500 applications have been rejected from Germany.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    CEC Chairman Celibashi\u2019s Statement:<\/h3>\n

    In a Facebook post, Ilirjan Celibashi stated:<\/p>\n

    “CEC Albania reminds all Albanian citizens applying for registration on the voters’ list from abroad that the Applicant Assistance Service is available 24 hours a day. Thanks to the tireless work of the support team, applicants are guided to avoid mistakes like the ones illustrated below. The CEC protects citizens’ personal data according to the applicable legislation and urges applicants to be cautious about sharing unnecessary information that is not required for registration in PER.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
