The first political measurements for the May 11 elections by the Euronews Albania Barometer, conducted with 1,600 citizens between January 15-30, 2025, also focused on citizens’ trust and evaluation of SPAK.<\/p>\n

The latest findings from January 2025 show that Albanians’ trust in SPAK is at its highest level since the institution was established. SPAK continues to rank among the three most trusted institutions in Albania and remains the most trusted Albanian institution.<\/p>\n

On a scale from 0 to 10, where 0 indicates no trust and 10 indicates maximum trust, 42.2% of the 1,600 citizens surveyed face-to-face rated SPAK with the highest values. Comparing citizens’ responses over more than two years to the same question using the same measurement scale by the Euronews Albania Barometer since November 2022, the data reveal that by the end of January 2025, SPAK’s credibility has reached its highest level compared to the previous six measurements.<\/p>\n

Not only has trust in SPAK increased, but its performance evaluation at the end of January 2025 is also at its highest level, with 60.5% of respondents rating SPAK\u2019s work positively. Meanwhile, only 12.7% of citizens rated it negatively, while 24.7% remained neutral in their responses.<\/p>\n

Analyzing the political profile of citizens, the majority of those who rated SPAK\u2019s work most favorably are voters of the Socialist Party in 2021, with 82.5% of those who voted for the SP expressing positive opinions. Regarding Democratic Party voters, 43.8% of those who voted for the DP in 2021 have a positive assessment of SPAK.<\/p>\n

Does the government or the opposition support SPAK in its work? Data collected at the end of January 2025 show that 67.7% of respondents believe the government supports SPAK in its work, while 21.9% think otherwise, believing that the government does not support it. As for the opposition\u2019s support for SPAK\u2019s work, 29.5% of citizens believe the opposition supports SPAK, while 57.9% think otherwise.<\/p>\n

Can the government obstruct SPAK\u2019s work? When asked at the end of January 2025, the majority of citizens answered “No” (49%). Meanwhile, 38.3% believe the government could hinder SPAK\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

It is important to emphasize that this data was collected before the arrest of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj and before Prime Minister Edi Rama\u2019s statements regarding SPAK. To understand the impact that these latest political developments and statements will have on citizens’ support for SPAK in the future, further measurements will be analyzed in the second Euronews Albania Barometer survey in March 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
