And I will sit down with him in March to see how we will proceed with this,\u201d Kallas said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"629\" data-end=\"838\">\u201cI really want to see how we can make this functional. I have also addressed this with the Serbian Foreign Minister. And he has told me that he is truly willing to invest time in normalization,\u201d Kallas said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"1047\">Kosovo and Serbia have been engaging in dialogue under EU mediation since 2011. In recent years, the dialogue has taken place at a high level, involving the leaders of both countries and chief negotiators.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1049\" data-end=\"1230\">During the nearly five-year mandate of the bloc\u2019s previous envoy, Miroslav Laj\u010d\u00e1k, Kosovo and Serbia reached the Agreement on the Path to Normalization of Relations in early 2023.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1232\" data-end=\"1402\">The agreement, which has not been signed, is legally binding for the parties, according to the EU, which has accused Kosovo and Serbia of failing to implement the pact.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1404\" data-end=\"1604\">In the past, Kosovo\u2019s leaders, from President Vjosa Osmani to Prime Minister Albin Kurti, have criticized Laj\u010d\u00e1k for an unbalanced approach in the dialogue and for occasionally aligning with Serbia.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1692\" data-is-last-node=\"\">His successor, Peter Sorensen from Denmark, officially started his work on February 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The head of European Union (EU) diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, said on Thursday that she is hearing criticism regarding the current format of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
