The deadline for submitting candidacies within the Democratic Party (PD) closed at midnight between February 17 and 18, with around 300 candidates expressing interest in competing in the primary race.<\/p>\n

In addition to current MPs, other key figures within the Democratic Party have also applied to enter the race.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the Commission for the Organization and Oversight of Electoral Operations (KOKOE) held a meeting to review the applications and verify the required documentation, ensuring that all necessary materials were submitted.<\/p>\n

Approval Process and Primary Elections<\/h3>\n

According to PD sources, the party leadership is expected to meet this week to approve the final candidate list and officially open the primary race.<\/p>\n
