Tirana Mayor <\/span>Erion Veliaj<\/span> reacted again this Sunday from <\/span>Durr\u00ebs Prison<\/span>, accusing prosecutor <\/span>Ols Dado<\/span> of acting against him on behalf of <\/span>Sali Berisha<\/span> while also naming judge <\/span>Bami<\/span> as having complied with the request.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOlsi Dado\u2019s blind attack against me and my family is nothing but a \u2018contract killing\u2019 on behalf of Sali Fund\u00ebrrina. His rag of a case, woven with blatant mistakes and shameless malice, followed by the activation of the butcher Sali Fund\u00ebrrinist\u2014who, ironically, even shares my name (Erion)\u2014made my removal from the leadership of Tirana Municipality a reality, right in the middle of the campaign,\u201d<\/span> Veliaj wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no doubt anymore that this so-called prosecutor, who is actually a \u2018hitman for hire,\u2019 frantically distributed his nonsense-filled file across the online cesspools of the DP even before I had a chance to see it myself, in his private sewer. But since today is Sunday, let me take you on a little tour to page 35, point 19,\u201d<\/span> Veliaj continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

Veliaj Reads From the Prosecutor\u2019s File<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFurthermore, it is stated that per diems for official foreign travel and flight tickets, which must be purchased by the Contracting Authority, the Municipality of Tirana, through public procurement procedures, have been declared as income. Given these circumstances, the question arises: who covered the travel expenses of Erion Veliaj, considering he saved per diems?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd imagine, this same clown, in his 2009 asset declaration, states: \u2018Income obtained from per diems\u2019! Not only that, but in the same declaration, Bruce Dado claims as his own income the amounts \u2018transferred by the Council of Europe for travel per diems.\u2019 There\u2019s nothing wrong with that, let\u2019s be clear!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Veliaj\u2019s Questions for Prosecutor Dado<\/span><\/p>\n

Veliaj argues that despite being arrested <\/span>without trial<\/span>, he will not be silenced. He then raises several questions for <\/span>prosecutor Dado<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Why is the prosecutor surprised that I declared per diems as income, when he himself has done the same?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>If in my case, the prosecutor asks, \u2018Who covered Erion Veliaj\u2019s travel expenses since he saved per diems?\u2019 then isn\u2019t there a reasonable suspicion that Ols Dado himself may have engaged in wrongdoing in his own declarations?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Why is it that in his case, per diems are considered legitimate income, but in my case, it\u2019s an offense punishable by imprisonment without trial?<\/span><\/p>\n

Further, Veliaj questions:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Has Ols Dado traveled for official duties inside or outside the country over the years?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Has he received per diems for these trips?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Or did he not take them because he didn\u2019t need them?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Because if he did receive them and failed to declare them, at best, he committed false declaration, and at worst, the same question he asked about me applies to him: who covered his expenses if he didn\u2019t need the state-funded per diems?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>If he traveled on unofficial contacts and saved his per diems because others covered his expenses, should those be declared too?<\/span><\/p>\n

Veliaj: \u201cThey Thought They Could Silence Me\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDear friends, let me continue dismantling this farcical case even on this Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey surely thought that by locking me up without trial, they would shut me up. And they\u2019re not wrong\u2014Sali did the same when he exiled his medical colleagues. But this \u2018colleague\u2019 of mine, Ols Angoni, has no idea who he has tangled with, even though he calls himself Bruce Willis and flexes his muscles at BKH officers (well, Bruce, go ahead, add this to your list of \u2018threats\u2019 against your thick-skulled head).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe has no clue, the failure, and he couldn\u2019t possibly have one. But I\u2019ll teach him\u2014patiently, piece by piece\u2014until this joke of a case he cooked up against me is exposed and completely discredited, except perhaps by those who use him as a tool for their own ends.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe real problem here is that this guy, who once served as the mouthpiece of the then-General Prosecutor, has now been armed with SPAK\u2019s sword to decapitate innocent people\u2014using arguments so ridiculous that only a half-wit and half-criminal would dare to write them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Veliaj: \u201cThis Prosecutor Is a Threat to Common Sense\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to tax law, the term \u2018per diem\u2019 refers to meal expenses, which all state employees receive from the state budget. This means that these expenses are neither procured nor can they be, because under this thick-headed man\u2019s logic, state employees would have to enter a bidding process to see who gets the least money for food! Do you understand how incompetent, shameless, and brainless this guy is?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMoreover, declaring a certain amount as income and specifying its source does not mean that amount was saved. And even more so, if that amount was passed on by a third party\u2026 Yet, somehow, this prosecutor finds that suspicious.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis man, who should be stripped of his professional license for being a threat to common sense, should instead receive free medical treatment for a severe case of water on the brain!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, proper declaration legitimizes spending, whereas failure to declare raises questions about who covered one\u2019s travel expenses. But imagine dealing in <\/span>2025<\/span> with the outdated, twisted logic of <\/span>State Security in 1975<\/span>!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
