This scheme eliminates additional fees for any bank transfer within the SEPA system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"300\" data-end=\"430\">The application was submitted by the Bank of Albania and the Albanian Association of Banks to the European Payments Council (EPC).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"432\" data-end=\"716\">According to the official statement by the Bank of Albania, all 11 banks within the Albanian banking system individually prepared their applications within a relatively short time, aiming for the first SEPA cross-border transactions to be carried out at the beginning of October 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"960\">The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, stated that during the first year of membership, economic actors in the country are expected to save around 20 million euros due to significantly lower commissions compared to the current ones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The application packages for the membership of Albanian banks in the SEPA credit transfer scheme have been officially submitted.
