Albanians are more intelligent than they were a year ago. The 2025 report from the International Intelligence Registry ranks Albania 64th out of 126 countries.<\/p>\n
With an average intelligence score of 97.19 points, Albania has seen an increase of 0.15 points compared to last year\u2019s average of 97.04. However, according to experts, this figure should be higher, as the data in the report is not fully standardized across all included countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow dynamic was the group that completed the test? How evenly distributed was it across the country? In age groups, in schools, or how much did it take into account other demographic, social, and cultural components? These factors compromise the accuracy of the data,\u201d says Erion Mu\u00e7a, an expert in education and employment.<\/p>\n
In comparison with neighboring countries, Albania ranks last in terms of population intelligence. Serbia leads the region with an average score of 100.86, followed by Greece with 100.07, Montenegro with 98.65, and North Macedonia with 97.59.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat stands out is the difference between the number of people who took the test and how that number is reflected only in percentages, which impacts the overall ranking\u2014especially when considering total population and the number of young people in a country,\u201d the expert adds.<\/p>\n
The average intelligence quotient is highest in East Asia, while it is closer to the global average in Europe and West Asia. Meanwhile, in Central and Southern Africa, as well as Latin America, the average IQ is below the global mean.
