The presiding officer of Kosovo\u2019s constitutive parliamentary session, Avni Dehari, stated that there is no need for a consultative meeting with parliamentary parties ahead of tomorrow\u2019s session, KosovaPress reports.
Dehari, the oldest-serving MP from the Vet\u00ebvendosje Movement, reaffirmed that the party\u2019s candidate for Speaker of the Assembly remains MP Albulena Haxhiu.<\/p>\n

The Assembly is scheduled to continue its constitutive session on Friday at 10:00, marking the sixth attempt to elect the leadership of the country\u2019s highest legislative body.
Dehari emphasized again that Vet\u00ebvendosje has not withdrawn Haxhiu\u2019s candidacy for Speaker of the Assembly.<\/p>\n

Regarding the potential involvement of President Vjosa Osmani in resolving the institutional deadlock, Dehari noted that if needed, the head of state could call the parliamentary parties for consultations.<\/p>\n

Civil society groups in Kosovo have echoed this request, urging President Osmani to convene party leaders in order to find a solution for the constitution of the Assembly following the February 9 elections.<\/p>\n

KosovaPress has also sent questions to the Office of the President regarding a possible invitation to political parties to help resolve the issue, but no response has been received so far.<\/p>\n
