Kosovo\u2019s Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced that his government has agreed to accept a number of migrants deported from the United States.<\/p>\n
According to Kurti, Kosovo will host approximately 50 individuals over the span of one year, provided they meet specific criteria related to the rule of law and public order.<\/p>\n
Kurti made the announcement via social media, emphasizing Kosovo\u2019s continued commitment to its partnership with the United States, which he described as the country\u2019s most steadfast ally. He reiterated that Kosovo would always remain a reliable partner of the U.S.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe decision to provide temporary and immediate protection for fifty (50) individuals has been approved, as part of the cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America. These individuals will act in accordance with Kosovo\u2019s current legislation and will enjoy the rights defined by law during their stay in the Republic of Kosovo,\u201d the government decision states.<\/p>\n
Kurti\u2019s Full Statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIn response to the request of the United States to accept and temporarily relocate third-country nationals, and in fulfillment of our expressed willingness to cooperate with our partner and ally, today we translated that readiness into an official Government Decision during our 262nd cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n Under this decision, our state will receive and accommodate up to 50 individuals within a one-year period to facilitate their safe return to their country of origin.<\/p>\n The selection of these individuals will be made from a proposed list, based on whether they meet specific criteria regarding the rule of law and public order.<\/p>\n While residing in Kosovo, these individuals will be subject to our laws and will enjoy the rights guaranteed by our legal system.<\/p>\n The United States remains our unwavering ally, and the Republic of Kosovo will always be a trustworthy partner.
