The Acting Mayor of Tirana, Anuela Ristani, has responded to the recent cyberattack on the institution\u2019s digital system, calling it one of the most sophisticated attacks recorded to date.<\/p>\n

In a media statement, Ristani noted that this was the 15th similar attack in the past six months, highlighting the ongoing challenges that public institutions face with digital security.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that efforts are underway to further strengthen the municipality\u2019s digital infrastructure in cooperation with cybersecurity experts and assured the public that no data had been compromised and no information was lost.
\u201cOut of the 80 servers used by the Municipality, 10 are currently under observation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nursery and kindergarten application, as well as the reconnection with AKSHI for permit services, are being rigorously checked to ensure there is no malware before reactivation,\u201d Ristani added.<\/p>\n

Full Statement by Anuela Ristani:<\/strong>
\u201cDear citizens of Tirana,
I would like to inform you that the Municipality of Tirana has recently been the target of a highly sophisticated cyberattack. This is one of 15 similar attacks recorded in just the past six months, reflecting the new reality of digital threats we face every day.<\/p>\n

The latest attack was carried out by compromising an original Microsoft license, indicating the high level of coordination and sophistication behind this act.<\/p>\n

I want to emphasize that, although our platform is not classified as critical infrastructure under current legislation and is not under the direct supervision of the National Cybersecurity Authority, we have taken all necessary steps for the full recovery of our systems.<\/p>\n

All data remains intact and no information has been lost.
Of the 80 total servers, 10 are currently under monitoring.<\/p>\n

The nursery and kindergarten application and the reconnection with AKSHI for permit services are being rigorously inspected to ensure no malware remnants remain before activation.<\/p>\n

At this stage, we are moving into a rehabilitation and further strengthening process of our digital infrastructure, in collaboration with top security experts.<\/p>\n
