Albanian Foreign Minister Igli Hasani participated on Monday in the inauguration of the Greek Consulate in the city of Kor\u00e7\u00eb. Also present at the ceremony were Greece\u2019s Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and Greek MEP Fredi Beleri.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Hasani emphasized that the opening of the consulate represents not just a diplomatic institution, but also a bridge rooted in European values and a centuries-old friendship between Albania and Greece.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a pleasure to inaugurate a new building for the Greek Consulate in a city with European roots. We reaffirm our readiness for relations based on respect, European values, and historic friendship,\u201d Hasani said.<\/p>\n
He underlined the essential role of Greece as an important partner for Albania, as well as its support for Albania\u2019s integration into the European Union.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new spirit is being materialized through new projects for the Greek minority in Albania and the Albanian community in Greece. In this context, Greece\u2019s support for Albania\u2019s EU integration is vital. Its support is clearly demonstrated today with the presence of the Foreign Minister in Kor\u00e7\u00eb,\u201d Hasani stated.<\/p>\n
Hasani also mentioned the historical figure of Giorgos Seferis, the Greek Nobel laureate, in whose former residence the consulate is being opened.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Seferis himself said, bridges are not built with stones, but with words and memory. The renovation of this consulate is a reference point for cultural exchange and engagement with the citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n
In conclusion, the Foreign Minister wished success to the Consul General and his staff, stressing that today is an opportunity to build a new partnership.<\/p>\n
