The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, through a Facebook post, expressed its concern regarding what it described as the \u201creckless statements\u201d of senior state officials and elected politicians.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe independence of the Constitutional Court is not a privilege of its judges, but a foundation of the rule of law. The independence and impartiality of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo are guaranteed by the Constitution, and no institution, political party, or individual can interfere in its work. Any attempt to exert pressure on constitutional judges constitutes a violation of the fundamental principle of the separation of powers and undermines citizens\u2019 trust in the rule of law and in democracy itself,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the Court emphasized that its decisions are based exclusively on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, its judicial practice, and international standards for the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms, KosovaPress reported.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe decisions of the Constitutional Court are based exclusively on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, its judicial practice, as well as on international standards for the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms. A day earlier, after being re-nominated by LVV for the post of Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti criticized the Constitutional Court during his speech for the decisions it has made during his governing term, as well as those in recent months related to the constitution of the Assembly.<\/p>\n
