In Greece, half of all stolen vehicles identified during the large police operation \u201cJoint Action Day (JAD) Mobile 8)\u201d were uncovered. The operation, held across 26 European countries with Europol coordination and participation from several states\u2014including Albania\u2014resulted in the discovery of 462 stolen or falsified vehicles, 231 of which were seized in Greek territory.<\/p>\n
According to the official announcement, a total of 462 vehicles were identified across Europe, 232 more than the previous year. In Greece, 6,548 vehicles were inspected, leading to the discovery of 231 stolen or falsified cars, as well as the arrest of 84 irregular migrants and 21 traffickers. Authorities also seized 199.56 grams of narcotic substances.<\/p>\n
The Greek police participated through specialized organized crime units, while the operation was carried out from 20 to 31 October 2025, under the European priority \u201cEmpact.\u201d<\/p>\n
The campaign was coordinated by Frontex in cooperation with Greek, German, Spanish, and Polish authorities.<\/p>\n
EU member states participating included Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and Sweden.<\/p>\n
Third countries also took part, including Albania, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Switzerland, along with Europol and Interpol agencies.<\/p>\n
On the Greek side, intensive checks were conducted both at the country\u2019s external borders and within its territory\u2014in Attica, Thessaloniki, Kilkis, Fthiotida, Thrace, Serres, and at the border points of Mertzani, Krystallopigi, and Kakavia\u2014with the objective of identifying stolen or modified vehicles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
