The OSCE Mission in Kosovo says it expresses strong disappointment \u2014 and deep concern \u2014 over the decision of several representatives of political parties within the Central Election Commission (CEC) to refuse or abstain from approving the accreditation request of the Srpska List for participation in the December 28 elections.<\/p>\n
In a reaction on Facebook, the Mission says it condemns actions that undermine the right of political entities to participate in elections, adding that such actions represent a clear departure from internationally accepted electoral standards.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are seriously concerned about the growing political polarization within the CEC, reflected in the voting behavior that appears to be driven by party interests rather than by legal criteria and democratic principles. Such behavior undermines the impartiality and essential credibility of an independent election management body,\u201d the reaction states.<\/p>\n
The OSCE says that these actions risk damaging public trust in the electoral process and reinforcing perceptions that decisions are politically motivated rather than oriented toward fairness, inclusiveness, and transparency.<\/p>\n
The OSCE Mission has called on the CEC and all political actors to uphold professionalism, impartiality, and democratic standards, ensuring that the December 28 elections are fully conducted in line with best international practices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
