At his invitation, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with Acting Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, today hosted a meeting with ambassadors, charg\u00e9s d\u2019affaires, heads of diplomatic missions, and diplomatic representatives accredited in Republic of Kosovo.<\/p>\n
As part of regular communication and in light of recent developments, Prime Minister Kurti and Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi briefed them on the phases of implementation of the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Vehicles. These laws are harmonized with European Union legislation, as well as on the affirmative actions that Kosovo\u2019s institutions will undertake to ensure their full implementation.<\/p>\n
The first phase of implementation, which begins today, foresees an information period regarding the application of the legal provisions. Visitors entering through border crossings will be provided with informational materials offering clear guidance on the rights, obligations, and relevant procedures arising from the legislation in force. In parallel, informational sessions with citizens will be organized, along with media information campaigns, informational telephone hotlines, and other outreach activities. This phase will last until March 15 of this year, when full implementation will begin. The implementation of the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Vehicles aims to facilitate the stay of non-resident nationals in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister also informed the ambassadors present about the necessity of initiating the gradual integration of the healthcare and education systems, as part of a comprehensive and long-term approach. He stated that this integration process will be carried out in coordination with the European Union, while ensuring that the concerns and advice of the non-majority Serb community in Kosovo are taken into consideration.<\/p>\n
