The epidemiological situation in Kosovo continues to remain alarming in terms of new infections detected in the past week.<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Institute of Public Health Care confirmed 5 deaths over the last 24 hours, while 704 citizens tested positive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kosovo is seeing a steady climb of new infections in the past week, while authorities have alleged earlier that this might be a result of the large gatherings witnessed during the electoral period.<\/span><\/p>\n

The official death toll from the virus in the country now stands at 1.736, according to a tally kept by health authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pristina has been the worst-hit city, counting over 265 new cases in the last day.<\/span><\/p>\n

As other countries in the region are stepping up their efforts to secure more vaccine doses, Kosovo has not started its vaccination rollout.<\/span><\/p>\n

Health authorities do not have a clear date when they will be able to secure the first batch of the vaccine in order to immunize its population.<\/span><\/p>\n
