Oncologists say this is the most common cancer among women and is influenced by multiple factors.<\/p>\n<p>Obstetrician-gynecologist Euglend Hoxha says that cervical cancer is a disease that can be eliminated through vaccination, early detection, and proper treatment.<\/p>\n<p>On World Cancer Day, doctors are calling for prevention and early diagnosis. Since 2019, Albania has begun administering the HPV vaccine, which targets one of the main causes of cervical cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the vaccine was given to 13-year-old girls, but starting in January 2026 it will become part of the mandatory vaccination schedule for boys of the same age as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Around 80 new cases of cervical cancer are reported every year at the Oncology Hospital at QSUT.
