<\/p>\nMagnus Brunner, European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, is in Tirana for an official visit. Today, he met with Prime Minister Edi Rama, Interior Minister Albana Ko\u00e7iu, the head of SPAK Klodian Braho, as well as ambassadors of European Union member states accredited in Tirana.<\/p>\n
In a social media post, Brunner stated:<\/p>\n
\u201cAlbania has made concrete progress in aligning its policies and legal framework with the European Union acquis. My message is clear: stay on the right track. Albania is on the right track.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement released to the media ahead of the visit to Tirana, the European Commission said that the meetings aim to exchange views on cooperation in migration management, border security, and the fight against organized crime, as well as on Albania\u2019s progress in aligning with European Union standards.<\/p>\n
Regarding the meeting with SPAK, the European Commission noted that the Commissioner \u201cwill be briefed on the work of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK),\u201d and that he will conclude his visit with a meeting with Frontex border guards and an observation of operational cooperation at the Port of Durr\u00ebs.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in a statement issued after the meeting, the Ministry of Interior emphasized that Minister Ko\u00e7iu briefed the Commissioner on the reforms undertaken within the framework of the European integration process. Ko\u00e7iu stated that Albania is committed to completing the technical phase of EU integration by 2027, describing this objective as achievable due to the progress made so far and close cooperation with EU institutions.<\/p>\n
She stressed that achieving this goal requires the continuation of reforms and the full implementation of European standards, particularly in the areas of security, migration, and the rule of law.<\/p>\n
The minister also highlighted the intensified cooperation between the State Police and SPAK, which over the past year led to the initiation of 107 criminal proceedings in the areas of narcotics, trafficking, economic crime, and corruption, delivering concrete results in dismantling criminal groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
