{"id":82877,"date":"2026-02-12T19:02:54","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T18:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=82877"},"modified":"2026-02-12T20:44:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T19:44:08","slug":"import-of-aptamil-infant-formula-banned-in-kosovo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/import-of-aptamil-infant-formula-banned-in-kosovo\/","title":{"rendered":"Import of \u201cAptamil\u201d Infant Formula Banned in Kosovo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) has decided to temporarily ban the import of all types of processed infant formula \u201cAptamil\u201d into Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>This decision is based on repeated notifications received from the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), according to which several EU countries, including Kosovo, are facing a situation related to the possible presence of the toxin Cereulide in this product.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the notifications published in recent days, full clarifications have been provided regarding the APTAMIL infant product, including information on which specific types of this product must not be used. Therefore, citizens have no reason for concern, as for the quantity that had previously entered Kosovo, measures were taken in a timely and preventive manner,\u201d the statement from the Food and Veterinary Agency said.<\/p>\n<p>In coordination with economic operators, the AUV has carried out the withdrawal of the affected product from the market. Meanwhile, AUV inspectors are in the field and continue, as stated, with full traceability procedures to verify whether any units of the products identified as unsafe remain available.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll actions previously taken, as well as this decision, prioritize the maximum protection of infants\u2019 and consumers\u2019 health.
