This Saturday, a ceremony was held to introduce Albania\u2019s new Minister of Defence, Ermal Nufi. During the ceremony, Pirro Vengu formally handed over the leadership of the Ministry of Defence to the new minister.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Vengu said that his work at the Ministry of Defence taught him that authority does not come from a loud voice, but from quiet responsibility.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet me tell you that my full-time transition as the MP of Vlora is not something I experience as a departure from the mission of national security. On the contrary, security is also defended at other tables. In my new role, I am deeply grateful for the support of Prime Minister Rama, and I will always carry with me the spirit of this ministry.<\/p>\n
Working with people in uniform has taught me humility, showing that authority does not stem from a loud voice but from silent responsibility. It has also taught me restraint when it comes to believing in absolute truths. War is always a tragedy, but preparation is essential, because to stop weapons, you need weapons \u2014 and that is where the weight lies,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Among other things, Vengu emphasized that he was passing the baton to Minister Nufi, adding that Albania is in safe hands and that the mission continues.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis ministry knows very well the price of responsibility. Behind every uniform there is a story, and behind every wound there is a human being who deserves to be heard.<\/p>\n
I have the privilege of handing over the baton to a good friend and compatriot. The institution is strong, Albania is in safe hands, and the mission continues. I leave this ministry with great respect and will continue the mission with the same dedication,\u201d Vengu added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the new minister Ermal Nufi stated that he will work closely with everyone to further strengthen Albania\u2019s security capacities.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery handover of duty reminds us that institutions grow stronger through continuity and respect for those who have served before us. Strategy is built every day by the people who work, the men and women who wear the uniform, and the commanders who make difficult decisions. Today I want to express my deepest respect for every member of the Armed Forces,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn my family there have been men and women who served in the forces of this country, who sacrificed their lives and their families. Service to the homeland is a duty that does not come without sacrifice; it is a privilege that always makes you proud. I am not coming to the ministry to work alone.
