Following today\u2019s decision by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo to impose a temporary measure regarding the decree on the dissolution of the Assembly, the Government of Kosovo issued a media statement reacting to the suspension of the decree.<\/p>\n
In its official statement, the government noted that the Constitutional Court\u2019s decision \u201csuspends the implementation of this decree until the case is reviewed on its merits.\u201d It added that this creates space for the issue \u201cto be fully examined by the Constitutional Court, in accordance with the constitutional order and the principles of democratic institutional functioning.\u201d<\/p>\n
The government also emphasized that for the next three weeks it will remain \u201cin a waiting position,\u201d pointing out that a number of agreements and decisions important for citizens remain without parliamentary approval.<\/p>\n
In conclusion, Kosovo\u2019s executive branch expressed the expectation that the final decision of the Constitutional Court will \u201cprovide full clarity on this issue and establish the constitutional standard so that in the future institutions and citizens will not face such serious obstacles.\u201d<\/p>\n
