The administration of the Albanian Parliament faced a cyberattack today targeting its IT system. Sources say that since this morning, the administration and members of parliament have not had access to their computers and email accounts.<\/p>\n
It is reported that their emails have been published on the Telegram page of the hacking group Homeland Justice.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll conversations and correspondence of the corrupt members of Parliament over the past months are in the hands of Homeland Justice. We are much closer to you than you think. Did you really shelter those killers and child killers? We will make sure that this shame stays with you forever,\u201d the hacking group Homeland Justice wrote on its official Telegram page.<\/p>\n
In addition to the publication on Telegram, sources say that an email from the hackers was sent to the official email addresses of some members of the Parliament\u2019s administration. The message is suspected to have been sent by an individual using a false identity.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo all the Parliament\u2019s emails have ended up with Homeland Justice. Oh Parliament, with your failed security, together with your pseudo-workers who hire relatives and exchange favors. Health first, the rest can be arranged\u2026\u201d the message reads.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, some MPs received a notification at their email addresses advising them not to click any links or attached files, as they may pose a risk.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis email comes from outside the institution of the Parliament of Albania. Please do not click links or attachments unless you recognize the source of the email and know that the content is safe,\u201d the message states.<\/p>\n
According to the preliminary assessment, sources from Parliament say that so far there has been no transfer of data resulting from the cyberattack on the emails and computers of the Parliament\u2019s administration and MPs. However, the final assessment will determine this.<\/p>\n
Statement from the National Cyber Security Authority:<\/strong><\/p>\n During the day, a cyberattack related to the email system of the Parliament of Albania was reported.
