Following recent changes in the government, new assignments in parliamentary committees are expected to be approved during Thursday\u2019s plenary session of the Parliament of Albania.<\/p>\n

According to sources from Euronews Albania, one of the main items on the agenda will be the appointment of former Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali to the Parliamentary Committee on Security, as well as former Defense Minister Pirro V\u00ebngu to the Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the opposition has called for a protest at 10:00 a.m. in front of Parliament, related to the process concerning the lifting of immunity and possible arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.<\/p>\n

According to the official agenda, two draft laws will also be discussed during the session.<\/p>\n

Agenda of the Plenary Session (March 12, 2026)<\/p>\n

  1. Approval of the minutes of the plenary session of March 5, 2026.<\/li>\n
  2. Announcements.<\/li>\n
  3. Draft decision authorizing the arrest or deprivation of liberty of MP Belinda Balluku through the replacement of the security measure.<\/li>\n
  4. Draft law on Albania\u2019s accession to the Metre Convention, originally signed in Paris on May 20, 1875, and amended in S\u00e8vres on October 6, 1921.<\/li>\n
  5. Draft law on the ratification of the loan agreement between Albania, the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH), and KfW Frankfurt am Main for the rehabilitation of the Fierza Hydropower Plant.<\/li>\n
  6. Draft decision on amendments to the decision regarding the membership of the permanent parliamentary committees.<\/li>\n
  7. Draft decision on an amendment regarding the substitute members of parliamentary committees.<\/li>\n
  8. Discussions on issues outside the agenda.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
