In essence, this principle guarantees that a person cannot be prosecuted or punished more than once for the same case, if there is already a final court decision on it.<\/p>\n
The Chairwoman of the Constitutional Court, Fjona Papajorgji<\/span><\/span>, emphasized that this principle is not only about how the law is applied, but also about ensuring that no one faces justice twice for the same act. She pointed out that significant challenges arise especially when decisions and procedures from different jurisdictions \u2014 national and international \u2014 overlap.<\/p>\n \u201cAt a time when legal systems increasingly interact with each other, the challenges related to the interpretation and implementation of this principle become even more complex, particularly in the context of the overlap between national and international jurisdictions.
