Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke this Tuesday at the Diaspora Summit, where he highlighted Albania\u2019s transformation in recent years, particularly in the areas of justice reform and tourism.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the second day of the summit, Rama emphasized the role of the Albanian diaspora, describing it as a key part of the nation\u2019s identity and future.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlbania does not end where its territory ends. It lives wherever Albanians live,\u201d Rama said, underlining the importance of preserving language, traditions, and cultural ties across generations.<\/p>\n
He described the diaspora not as being on the periphery, but at the heart of Albania\u2019s development, calling the country a \u201cmajor transformation site\u201d that invites diaspora investment for the future.<\/p>\n
Rama pointed to significant economic growth, noting that foreign investments have increased from around \u20ac300\u2013400 million annually in the past to over \u20ac1.2 billion per year today.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted progress in Albania\u2019s European Union integration process, stating that the country has closed all negotiation chapters within 11 months, describing it as a record timeframe.<\/p>\n
In a sharp remark, Rama criticized his predecessor, saying that \u201che used to register himself as a tourist every time he entered Albania.\u201d<\/p>\n
He stressed that his government had empowered the justice system to act independently:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe handed over to justice the sword that belongs only in its hands, to deliver justice for \u0627\u0644\u062c\u0645\u064a\u0639, sparing no one,\u201d Rama said.<\/p>\n
