Official data from the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Ministry of Finance of Albania<\/span><\/span> show that revenue from income tax on rents reached \u20ac60 million in 2025, up from \u20ac55 million in 2024\u2014an increase of 8.5%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"383\" data-end=\"496\">This tax corresponds to total rental income of around \u20ac400 million, marking an annual growth of approximately 8%.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"498\" data-end=\"676\">These developments indicate an expansion in the number of declared contracts, as well as reflecting rising rental prices in the domestic market and increases in reference values.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"978\">Tax authorities apply reference prices per square meter for rental taxation. As apartment prices\u2014especially in Tirana and coastal areas\u2014have increased significantly, many individuals find it unaffordable to purchase property and instead turn to renting, which raises demand and, consequently, prices.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"1087\">A large portion of the housing stock has shifted from long-term rentals to short-term rentals for tourists.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1301\">Data from daily rental platforms show that in 2025, about 26,300 apartments were being rented out, compared to 21,000 the previous year.
