{"id":84106,"date":"2026-04-23T15:33:48","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T13:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=84106"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:26:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T14:26:00","slug":"government-submits-86-page-report-to-parliament-on-eu-accession-negotiations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/government-submits-86-page-report-to-parliament-on-eu-accession-negotiations\/","title":{"rendered":"Government submits 86-page report to Parliament on EU accession negotiations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"114\" data-end=\"315\">The <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Council of Ministers of Albania<\/span><\/span> has submitted to the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Parliament of Albania<\/span><\/span> a report on Albania\u2019s EU accession process covering the year 2025 and the first four months of 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"317\" data-end=\"517\">The 86-page report provides a detailed overview of the country\u2019s current position in negotiating chapters and outlines the objective of meeting the closing benchmarks for 10 chapters within 2026\u20132027.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"977\">\u201cDuring the period October 2024 \u2013 November 2025, in the Intermediate Phase (between the opening and closing of negotiations), namely the phase of fulfilling the \u2018Interim Benchmarks\u2019 in the \u2018Fundamentals\u2019 (specifically 24 conditions in Chapter 23 \u2018Judiciary and Fundamental Rights\u2019 and Chapter 24 \u2018Justice, Freedom and Security\u2019), work was carried out throughout 2025 and finalized by Albania in January 2026, moving towards the closing phase of negotiations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1285\">During 2025, efforts focused on technically advancing all measures required for the closing benchmarks of the negotiations set by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">European Union<\/span><\/span>, at least for the first three chapters (30, 26, 25).
