Confidence in the economy declined in April. According to the latest survey by the Bank of Albania<\/span><\/span>, the Economic Sentiment Indicator dropped by 1.5 points, marking a reversal after several months of optimism.<\/p>\n

Consumers, along with sectors such as services and trade, contributed to the decline in the monthly survey score. However, the level remains 6.4 points above the average, indicating that the overall economic climate continues to be relatively stable.<\/p>\n

In sectors such as industry and construction, the outlook was positive in April, partially offsetting the decline in other sectors. Confidence in industry increased by 1.5 percentage points, driven by more optimistic expectations for production and export contracts. Meanwhile, construction recorded the strongest monthly growth, rising by 4.9 percentage points, supported by an improvement in current orders.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, services and trade\u2014two key sectors for the domestic economy\u2014showed signs of weakening, due to poorer assessments of demand and current activity, as well as weak sales performance.<\/p>\n

The most concerning signal comes from consumers. The Consumer Confidence Indicator fell by 3.2 percentage points. The decline was influenced by expectations regarding personal finances, the overall economic situation, and especially major purchases. Data from the survey tables show that consumers are also more pessimistic about the future, while expectations for prices and unemployment worsened in April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
