Many portray the EU as an obstacle, a burden, or a boundary that prevents people from breathing freely. But nothing could be further from the truth or more mistaken, because the EU guarantees the framework of the rule of law, and this cannot be negotiated \u2014 it can only be respected when you already have it, and built when you do not. On this day, which celebrates Europe as a cradle of cultures and shared will, I want to strongly emphasize that Albanians are at one of their best moments, and at the same time, the belief in being close to a united Europe is a guarantee of being on an irreversible path forward.
