Albania\u2019s Ministry of Health has approved a new guideline on hormone treatment for transgender individuals. In response, Ardit Hoxhllaku, the Mufti of Vlora, and Mirel Mazelli, imam of the Pogradec Mosque, have voiced their opposition to the initiative. According to them, the measure is wrong and contrary to the teachings of all religions.<\/p>\n
Hoxhllaku described the policy as unacceptable from an Islamic perspective, arguing that it contributes to the moral and social deterioration of society.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Imam Mazelli stated that the initiative conflicts with human nature and divine guidance.<\/p>\n
Earlier, following the announcement of the decision, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection Eugena Tomini issued a clarification regarding the hormone treatment guidelines. According to her, the document is a clinical guidance framework rather than a final therapeutic protocol.<\/p>\n
Tomini explained that the guidance was developed based on international practices and recommendations, as well as the assessment of a multidisciplinary team of specialists.<\/p>\n
