Representatives of civil society, activists, and citizens gathered once again this Sunday in Skanderbeg Square, from where they marched along\u00a0D\u00ebshmor\u00ebt e Kombit Boulevard\u00a0on the eighth day of protests against the planned development project in\u00a0Zv\u00ebrnec.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Carrying flags and banners, the protesters proceeded along the boulevard before stopping in front of the\u00a0Prime Minister\u2019s Office, where they were expected to remain for several hours, as they had done on previous days. The demonstration began with participants singing the\u00a0Albanian national anthem.<\/p>\n

During the protest, demonstrators chanted slogans such as:<\/p>\n

\u201cAlbania belongs to Albanians, not to traitors.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cResignation, resignation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Similar demonstrations were also reported in\u00a0Pogradec.<\/p>\n

For several days, protesters have consistently voiced five main demands:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The resignation of the Prime Minister.<\/li>\n
  2. The repeal of the status and legal framework for strategic investors.<\/li>\n
  3. The repeal of the \u201cMountains Package\u201d legislation.<\/li>\n
  4. The cancellation of amendments to the law on Protected Areas.<\/li>\n
  5. The cancellation of amendments to the law on Cultural Heritage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The ongoing protests reflect growing opposition among activists and citizens who argue that recent legal and development initiatives could have negative consequences for environmental protection, public interests, and cultural heritage preservation.<\/p>\n
