On Wednesday, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, spoke online with Manfred Weber, Chairman of the Group of European People Party (EPP).<\/p>\n

Coming at the center of their discussion was the interest shown by Weber on concerns and main topics of the electoral campaign in Albania.<\/p>\n

DP\u2019s leader emphasized that the main concerns of the Albanian people are the grave economic situation, high living costs, unemployment, and emigration.<\/p>\n

He added that the solution to the above is closely interconnected to the European integration of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cRule of law, fight against corruption and organized crime are preconditions to move forward in the integration process, preconditions to improve the life of the Albanians and to increase their welfare\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Manfred Weber said that it is \u201calways good to hear that reforms preestablished by the EU\u201d are a \u201cguarantee for the European future of Albania\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also expressed his interest in the standards and electoral infrastructure, more specifically on the situation with the media, election activities, and overall access to the infrastructure of the DP\u2019s political activities.<\/p>\n

Weber underlined that the standards of the elections are a condition for the European integration of the country.<\/p>\n
