{"id":8865,"date":"2021-03-26T11:07:04","date_gmt":"2021-03-26T11:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/?p=8865"},"modified":"2021-03-30T15:09:29","modified_gmt":"2021-03-30T15:09:29","slug":"12-000-trees-planted-near-patos-marinza-oil-field-to-improve-the-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/12-000-trees-planted-near-patos-marinza-oil-field-to-improve-the-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"12.000 trees planted near Patos-Marinza oil-field to improve the environment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">A joint project launched by the Environmentalist Association &#8220;Zharr\u00ebza\u201d and supported by Bankers Petroleum Albania has seen the planting of over 12.000 different plants and trees in Patos-Marinza and surrounding villages. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The project\u2019s aim is to improve the environment and establishing green belts in the oil-field area based in the villages of Jagodina, Marinza, Belina, Sheqisht\u00eb, Frash\u00ebr, Zharr\u00ebz, and Fshati I Ri. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cThe project was sought by our environmentalist association near Bankers Petroleum through an international organization mediating between the company and the community. We asked for it in 2018 and it found implementation by August 2019\u201d, explained the Director of Zharr\u00ebza Association, Qani Rredhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8867\" src=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/zhar-300x171.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"684\" height=\"390\" srcset=\"https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/zhar-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/zhar-768x439.jpg 768w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/zhar-150x86.jpg 150w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/zhar-696x397.jpg 696w, https:\/\/euronews.al\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/zhar.jpg 802w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 684px) 100vw, 684px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cIn total, we\u2019ve planted 8.000 oleanders, a specific evergreen vegetative plant used to reduce the impact of gas emissions. We\u2019ve also planted 4.000 endemic trees, such as Acacia, Eucalyptus, and Cottonwood added Rredhi explaining that the planting campaign will continue until the season is over. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">During this season, planting as well as maintenance will carry on. The green belt is of particular significance as it minimizes dust created by the movement of oil trucks and also private vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The project is being developed in cooperation with the residents of the area as well as with the local government who are also direct beneficiaries of air and land improvement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The plan is to continue with this project in the future so that the entire site is surrounded by a green belt, added the director of Zharr\u00ebza Association. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Representatives of the Chinese oil company say that \u201cBankers remains increasingly focused on improving the environment, not only through such projects but also through maintaining international standards during the exploration and development operations of the Patos-Marinza field\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Euronews\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">During 17 years of activity in Albania, Bankers has contributed to improving the environment in the area where it operates, through the rehabilitation of the take-over old wells, projects for the construction of oil pipelines, treatment of gases, and other elements released during the production process.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A joint project launched by the Environmentalist Association &#8220;Zharr\u00ebza\u201d and supported by Bankers Petroleum Albania has seen the planting of over 12.000 different plants and trees in Patos-Marinza and surrounding villages.
