The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta was in Shkodra today, in the commemoration ceremony of the 30th<\/sup> anniversary of the murder of martyrs, who died in the name of Democracy. While there, he took the chance to call on all Albanians to protect democracy through their vote, because according to him our democracy is at risk.<\/p>\n

According to Meta, Shkodra and all of Albania should look at April 25th<\/sup> as a possibility to restore democracy and to give an end to state capture, which has \u201cheld our country\u2019s European integration hostage\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have done everything to be where I am today, not only to be present in the anniversary of the martyrs of democracy but also because our country today is at a crossroads, out of which I am certain, we will successfully get ourselves out of, thanks to the will of every Albanian.<\/p>\n

We will be at the frontlines protecting the vote of Albanians on April 25th<\/sup> and this way, we will also honor the martyrs that fell in Shkodra and all the martyrs that fell for democracy.<\/p>\n

I am making it clear to every Albanian that you are an heir to this land and this can only be materialized through your vote.<\/p>\n

Let us use the power of the vote to protect our democracy and to prevent the depopulation of our country,\u201d said the head of state.<\/p>\n
