DP would call Tirana\u2019s <em>Blloku <\/em>area \u2018Stalingrad\u2019 so we went there in a meeting of around 30-40 people and we were fully aware that it was a mostly left-wing electorate. Someone stood up in the middle of the conversation and said: you know what, I want to get a building permit, when you become mayor will you give it to me? Gjergji said no. Oh well, he said, you\u2019re no good, and left\u201d said Hasimja.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the editor-in-chief of \u201cDita\u201d newspaper, Adrian Thano stated that the people have delivered their signals but they have been cheated midway. He gave the example of the \u201cJanuary 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u201d protest, to say that it is cynical to blame the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not that the people haven\u2019t signaled and reacted, be it with their vote or public opinions. In 2013 for example, they voted for retribution, but it didn\u2019t happen. They came out in protest on January 21<sup>st<\/sup>. But what happened on January 21<sup>st<\/sup>? The one the people were protesting against became part of the joint- government. The people have been betrayed by the elites. There is no way the people can be blamed for this.
