This week, Euronews Albania\u2019s show Balkan Talks focused on the new political reality in Kosovo, with a new government led by Albin Kurti and Vjosa Osmani as the head of state. <\/span><\/p>\n

The editor-in-chief of \u201cInfokus\u201d, Zekirja Shabani and Resul Sinani, journalist and university professor on communication sciences were invited to discuss the current political scene in Kosovo.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that Osmani will oppose Kurti on many occasions, but it will most likely happen after the elections. She will want to surpass Tha\u00e7i, so there will be hostilities to show off as a protagonist and that she\u2019s worthy as a president. It will be difficult for Kurti to have her as an ally\u201d, said Shabani.<\/span><\/p>\n

University professor Sinani shared the same opinion on the fact that there will be confrontations. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUntil now they had to be together, but friction and disputes will come and it will be difficult for them to cooperate\u201d, said Sinani.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Sinani, the president must show that she deserves the post and that she is above all sides. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe is obliged to be a president as stipulated by the Constitution of Kosovo. She ran for president during the campaign and must leave politics and be a functionary of the post she was elected\u201d, says the expert on communication.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two MPs that crossed over to Vet\u00ebvendosje, gave Kurti 60 lawmakers in parliament, which according to Shabani will make him \u201cuncontrollable\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe has 60 MPs and can pass any law without a problem, rendering the opposition totally powerless and Kurti uncontrollable\u201d, explains Shabani. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, having such an enormous amount of power does not give PM Kurti the right to \u201cact as he wishes\u201d on the electoral reform. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe reform is necessary, but not as Kurti wants to do it. The commissions must be led by the opposition. I hope that the president is not elected like this anymore, but by popular vote\u201d, said Sinani.<\/span><\/p>\n

The establishment of such a powerful government has affected the opposition, while Shabani says he thinks that the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) is not performing his duty as he should. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPDK does not have a stance and Hoxhaj cannot replace Veseli. He needs to find a way and show that he deserves that seat because he\u2019s not accomplishing his duty and his speech in parliament was insignificant\u201d, said the editor-in-chief of Infokus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the endorsement of Vjosa Osmani as president by the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo was seen as a positive approach by Sinani. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the February elections, Abdixhiku knew that he shouldn\u2019t wage a war as it would dwindle the party even more. By voting or creating the quorum he is communicating with the electorate that voted for Osmani so that they can safely return to the home that they have voted for so many years. His duty now is to reform the party\u201d, concluded Sinani.<\/span><\/p>\n
